NT Will Play International Friendly Match Against Costa Rica and Chile in September

KFA announced that Korea Republic Football National Team will play International Friendly Match against Costa Rica and Chile in September 7th and 11th respectively. In which city and what time these two matches will be held are not decided yet.

Costa Rica and Chile are considered as the right teams for the National Team to improve and boost-up its strategy and overall strength with the newly appointed Head Coach.

Ranking 23rd of the FIFA in June, Costa Rica is far stronger than Korea Republic. Costa Rica, however, failed to advance to the Round of 16 for this FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia by losing to Serbia (0-1) and Brazil (0-2) and drawing with Switzerland (0-0). The key players of Costa Rica are Keylor Navas, the goalkeeper of Real Madrid CF, midfielder Celso Borges (Real Club Deportivo de La Coruna) and forward Bryan Jafet Ruiz Gonzalez (Sporting CP). They won 3, drew 2 and lost 3 games with Korea Republic. The last match with Korea Republic was held in Seoul on October 2014 after the Brazil World Cup and Korea was defeated by the score of 1-3.

Chile, 9th of the FIFA rank, the champion of 2016 Copa America Centenario and the runner-up of FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017, failed to qualify for FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia. Reinaldo Rueda was newly appointed as the Head Coach in January and Chile Football National Team is rebuilding the team under his command. The key players are Alexis Alejandro Sanchez (Manchester United FC), Arturo Vidal (FC Bayern Munich) and Gary Alexis Medel Soto (Be?ikta? Jimnastik Kulubu). Chile has won 2 and drew 2 games with Serbia twice, Sweden and Poland, all of those which had qualified to FIFA World Cup 2018 Russia. Korea Republic lost to Chile by the score of 0-1 at the match held on January 2008.
