Youth League starts with 750 teams participating
Daegyo Noonoppi Youth League 2018 is starting the 10th season on March 10. 308 elementary school teams, 247 middle school teams and 195 high school teams are competing in the regional leagues. The league starts in March and will go on until November except for during the summer break. Starting this year, the championship round is eliminated to encourage young players to enjoy football as it is rather than to focus on winning. CHO Deokjae, Chairman of KFA Competitions Committee, said “There have been worries at the beginning but we have gradually changed the fundamental of Korean football. The Youth League will continue to play its role as to raise prospective players and enhancing region-oriented football culture.”
