2002 WORLD CUP HERO Hong&Park join KFA as Executives

Korea Football Association (KFA, President CHUNG Mong-gyu) has announced that Vice Presidents KIM Ho-gon( also the chairman of the Technical Committee),
LEE Yong-soo, and General Secretary AN Gi Heon have offered their resignations, and that it will be a restructuring of the organization on Wednesday 8th, November,

The new Technical Committee will now focus on setting long-term plans and will conduct technical research for Korean football. KFA selected Former Tianjin Teda head coach, LEE Im-Saeng will be leading the committee chair.

KFA added that former Korean national team defender and Dong-A University head coach, CHOI Young-il, is set to be appointed as a vice president of the organization. He will be responsible for school football programs with Cho Byung-deuk.

KFA also nominated former Suwon FC head coach, CHO Duck-je, as the Chairman of Competitions Committee. WON Chang-ho will continue serving as the Chairman of Referees Committee.

KFA will also be announcing the new chairman of the Head Coach Recruiting Committee for the national football team as soon as they finish the appointments of the vice presidents.

KFA named former Head Coach of the Korea National Football Team, Hong Myung-bo, as its CEO. Former Head of International Affairs Chun Hanjin, who has over 20 years of football administration experience has been promoted to general secretary and will assist the newly appointed CEO.

PARK Jisung, the former national team player, has been named the Director of the Office of Strategic Youth Development. He will set plans and make policies for the Korea’s youth players. KFA believes that PARK will be able to take full advantage of his experience and help benchmark advanced youth systems abroad.

"CEO Hog Myung-bo and General Secretary CHUN Hanjin’s system is a shift in the generation of executives, such appointment reflects KFA will to seek talents and experts in the football industry.” the KFA said. “It also reflects the KFA President CHUNG Mong-gyu’s strong commitment to revamp KFA’s manpower and organization.

KFA said that appointment of head of divisions and teams will soon be announced. KFA is looking forward changing the dynamic of the organization through the will be also reshuffling of staff at all levels. KFA also added that newly appointed executives will officially begin their terms in office e as soon as their appointment is approved ratified by the extraordinary congress.
