Korea Republic U-18 National Football Team achieved a win by 3-0 against Malaysia in the Round 4 for the 2018 AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers of Group F in match held at Paju Stadium on November 8th. After winning all the four matches against Brunei Darussala, Indonesia, Timor-Leste and Malaysia, the U-18 National Team reached the first position in its group, guaranteeing qualification for the final tournament. The four best teams at 2018 AFC U-19 Championship will be qualified to 2019 U-20 World Cup.
The Korean Team played with Oh Sehun (Hyundai High School) in the front line in a 4-1-4-1 formation. The second line was formed by Cho Youngwook, Jeon Sejin, Kim Jungmin (Geumho HS) and Eom Wonsang. Jeong Hojin (Younggong HS) was the defensive midfielder while the defense line was the same as the previous match with Lee Gyuhyuk (Shingal HS), Lee Jaeik (Boin HS), Kim Hyunwoo (Hyundai HS), and Hwang Taehyeon (Chung-Ang University). The Goalkeeper for the third match in a row was Min Sungjun (Daegeon HS).
By scoring three times on the first half, the U-18 National Team secured its victory early in the match. In the second half, the head coach Jeong Jeongyong opted for introducing the striker Lee Kangin and the Goalkeeper Choi Minsu (Hamburg). The highlight goes to Choi Minsu substitution, which marked his first appearance in the championship. Son of German father and Korean mother, Choi Minsu was unable to play earlier due to a injury in his hand but could finally stand in front of the crown in the last match. Capped by head coach Shin Tae-Yong in the beginning of the year for the U-20 National Team, Choi Minsu was transfered to Hamburg Youth Team in Frankfurt last July.
