Korea Republic Women's National Football Team lost to the US 0-6

Women's National Football Team lost to the US 0-6 at the round of 2 which was held at Sahlen's Stadium in Cary, North Carolina on October 23(Korea Standard Time). A record against the US became 2 ties 9 losses.
The national team will compete in the EAFF E-1 Football Championship which will be held in Japan in December. Korea Republic, North Korea, Japan and China will joinn the EAFF E-1 Football Championship. When the EAFF E-1 Football Championship is finished, the team will compete in the Cyprus Cup which will be held early next year, and finally will go to the AFC Women's Asian Cup Finals in Jordan in April. In case that the team ranks within 5th place in AFC women's Asian Cup, it will be qualified for the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019.
Even if Korea lost to the US in both games, it was a meaningful International Friendly match. Head coach Yoon Dukyeo's the ultimate goal to have a generation change was successfully carried on. During the two International Friendly matches, Park Chorong and Han Chaerin had a debut play of A match. Han Chaerin gave a strong impression while gaining a debut goal in the A match debut play.
Furthermore, the Women's National Team has experienced how to manage the game against strong team. Head coach Yoon Dukyeo explained, "Players had not experienced wild physical fights in the national league. The players had difficulties to have a build-up due to strong pressure of the opponent team. It was a good opportunity for the players to learn the flow of international football."
Korea struggled with a hard battle from the beginning of the first round against the US which used a high set piece. Korea allowed a header goal to Samantha Mewis in a corner kick situation at 3'. At 20', Mewis rushed a ball to the goal which was defended by Kang Gaae and gave two goals on her own. Korea, which was behind 0-2, was shaken with its defense and allowed the US two more goals at the last minutes of the first half.
Korea was behind 0-4 and aimed to have a turn around while changing the players. In the middle of the second half, the goal keeper Kang Gaae had a wound and Kim Minjeong kept the goal instead. Korea played the second half while changing five players (maximum of 6 players are allowed to substitute) but was not be able to get a recovery goal. The game ended with two more goals gained by the US.
