Women's National Football Team was defeated 1-3 against the U.S.

Korea Republic Women's National Football Team was defeated 1-3 at the international friendly match against the U.S. which was held at the Mercedes-Bentz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, US on October 20(Korea Standard Time). Korea will move to Sahlen's Stadium in Cary, North Carolina and have 2nd round against the US on October 23, 3 pm.

A game against the US, the 1st ranking in the FIFA Women's Football, was a chance to test capability of Korea women's football at the international stage.

Yoo Yuonga(Sportstoto) was positioned at the attacker, Han Chaerin - Lee Mina(Hyundai Steels) - Ji Soyun(Chelsea FC) - Choe Yuri were positioned at the Midfielders line. The captain, Cho Sohyun(Hyundai Steel) was positioned as the defensive midfielder and defense line was formed by Park Chorong(KSPO) - Sin Damyeong(Su won FMC) - Kim Hyeyeong(Icheon Daekyo) - Jang Seulgi(Hyundai Steel). Kang Gaae(Sportstoto) played as a goal keeper while Kim Jeongmi, the veteran player was not included in the squad.

The attack of the US was powerful from the beginning. It recorded two shots on target at 10' of the first half at 24', Julie Ertz connected Megan Rapinoe's corner kick with diving header and gained a goal. The boosted US was successful to get an additional goal by Morgan at 40'.

Korea was discouraged after giving two goals, but recovered its confidence with a shoot by Han Chaerin. During the additional time of the first half, Han Chaerin made a middle distance shoot after penetrating defenders. Han Chaerin became a rare player who put the debut goal at the A match debut game.

Korea, which was behind 1-2 started counter attack by substituting two players as soon as the second half was kicked off. Instead of Lee Mina, Lee Sodam joined the play and Jeon Gaeul covered Choi Yuri.

At the beginning of the second half, Ji Soyun failed to get a ball out while Megan Rapinoe tried a shooting in front of the goal and they bumped each other. The referee called a penalty kick. Rapinoe successfully put a goal with a penalty kick which she gained and achieved 3-1. Korea was not able to get a result and the game ended.
