FC Seoul, which was slow at the beginning of the season, is gradually becoming revitalized. Even without few major players, Seoul won victory easily against FC Anyang.

Seoul defeated FC Anyang 2-0 in the 2017 KEB Hana Bank FA Cup round of 32 which was held in Seoul World Cup Stadium on April 19. Seoul was dominating the game 2-0 with two goals gained by Yun Illok during the first half in the second half, Seoul well defended offense by Anyang and won a victory without losing a point. Seoul had Dejan, Mauro and Hwang Kiwook in the substitution squad and excluded Park Chuyoung from the entry but won a victory which means successful physical strengths.

FC Anyang supporters waited for this day for the last 13 years but nothing was gained. Anyang LG Cheetahs was the origin of FC Seoul but the team moved to Seoul in 2004 and supporters of Anyang lost their team. However, with an endeavor of the citizen, FC Anyang was established in 2013. FC Anyang's longing dream to meet with FC Seoul came true after 13 years in this FA cup.

Prior to the game, supporters of FC Anyang arouse their enthusiasm while bursting red flame. Red flame is a type of gunfire which is banned to carry inside the stadium and the person carrying it will be charged with fine. Anyang supporters carried on their support in spite of penalty disciplinary. They wanted to show off their presence but it was not useful.

Coach Hwang Sunhong of Seoul attempted a change since the break of A match at the end of March. Instead of back fours which he favored, he changed to back three which was often used by former Coach, Choi Yongsoo. It is gradually showing its effect. There was no victory in K league yet since the change to back three, but decline of lost points is significant. Moreover, by achieving a complete victory against Anyang in the FA cup without lost points, the team gained confidence.

Together with a settlement of defence, Seoul gained flexibility in offense. The team gained a chance by occupying the ball of other side and developed offense using side. They had the first achievement in the 27'. Cross from right side by Lee Sangho was bounced by Yoon Illok' head and recorded 1-0. Eight minutes later, in the 35', Yoon Illok made a successful second goal with a non-stop shooting from right side of the goal. The first half ended 2-0.

Anyang started counterattack and showed strong offense force at the beginning of the second half. Two or three shootings of Anyang in a row sharply headed towards the goal of Seoul. As Coach Hwang felt crisis, he substituted Shim Wooyeon by Dejan in the 67'. Coach Hwang placed Hwang Kiwook and Kwak Taehwi until the 55' but as the team moved back, he faced the challenge with strong offense.

The form of match was slightly changed with Dejan's play. As Seoul started counterattack by Dejan and Yoon Illok, Anyang had difficulty in offense. Anyang's attack became tardy. Eventually, Anyang was not able to gain any goal in an eagerly waited game against Seoul and withdrew a challenge to FA cup.
