On January 2, KFA held a kick-off meeting to start 2017 season. KFA president Chung Monggyu made himself a promise that KFA will establish a good system and football culture.
Chung said "We will establish a good system and football culture to expand the football industry. To do so, we will pursue reforms and changes."
President Chung presented 5 goals. He claimed that he will support the national team to achieve the best performance from the Taegeuk Warriors. The KFA president also mentioned that KFA will run FIFA U-20 World Cup perfectly.
Chung talked about youth football as well. He said that KFA will prevent excessive costs and an environment where youth player can easily enter football.
The third goal was the introduction of the local league. Chung emphasized that it will be important to make the base of 5th and 6th league division making the best use of teams in local leagues.
The fourth goal was the improvement of referee administration and expansion of football culture. He claimed that he will help talented people and former players step into referee career through innovation of the system and administrative support.
The fifth goal was to strengthen cooperation with the local football associations. Chung said that he will seek co-marketing to increase the profit of local association and distribution.
The former Busan I-Park chairman added that he would pay attention to structural review and networking so that local football associations could be included in the jurisdiction of the Korean Football Association.
