U-19 national team led by Shin Taeyong has started a training camp in Jeju Island since December 11. At the moment, the team has 35 players but the squad will be reduced to 23 players later. Then, the team will move its camp to Portugal to prepare Suwon JS Cup which will be held in March 2017.

Coach Shin said "I am not yet familiar with players. This Jeju training camp is an opportunity to understand strength, weakness and character of players."

U-19 team is scheduled to have an exhibition match against Busan Ipark and Kwangwoon University from December 19 to December 22. 35 players are expected to have a certain amount of playing time.

On December 19, coach Shin watched the game from the stand without giving a tactical instruction to the players.

Coach Shin emphasized "The main purpose of this training camp is to look at the individuals. After that, we can decide who wouldl go to Portugal. I think around 30 players will join the Portugal camp."

Shin added that the performance against Busan was not bad.

"Two exhibition games were ok. But there are things to improve. For example, field players did not move much when the goalkeeper took the kick. Players need to keep showing organic movement after making a pass."

Shin explained that players need to space by continuing movement. He commented "Most of the players are new to this idea. They need to adapt to the new style as soon as possible."

Ha Seungwoon who was called for the U-19 team for the first time said "This is a creative football. We are asked to move continuously and to do what we can do well. It is demanding physically but I have no problem with it."

Cheonnam Dragon's Han Chanhee also said that "Before, it was like first defense and then attack. But we focus on attacking more in this team. I want to participate in the training with an appropriate amount of tension."
