Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors lost to Club America 1-2 at the FIFA Club World Cup

On December 11, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors lost to Club America 1-2 at the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2016

Jeonbuk took the lead with Kim Bokyung’s goal but conceded two goals in the second half. Jeonbuk would have met the European champion Real Madrid if they had beaten the Mexican club.

Club America’s Silvio Romero scored twice in the second half to secure the ticket to the semifinals.

In the 23, Kim Shinwook fed the ball to Park Wonjae who was overlapping from the left flank. Park delivered the ball to the central area and Kim Bokyung finished the chance with a neat skill.

The atmosphere changed in the second half. In the 58’, Romero headed a ball from the left flank and the ball went into the net.

In the 73’, Romero scored the winning goal. Romero fired a shot from a corner kick situation and there was no chance for the Jeonbuk goalkeeper.

Jeonbuk put their everything to find an equalizer but lady luck was not on Jeonbuk’s side. The match ended 2-1 to Club America.

On December 14, Jeonbuk is will be facing Mamelodi Sundowns in the 5th place deciding match.
